Having worked in the construction industry since 1990, Aaron’s wealth of experience means he has a wide and thorough knowledge of the commercial interior and construction sectors. As Director, Aaron's focus is on leading Zeal’s successful operations, as well as guiding the team through client projects to final delivery. An industry expert and Licensed Building Practitioner, he continuously strives for improvements within the company’s processes and oversees strict compliance with health & safety regulations. His professional yet easy going nature, backed up by his extensive experience in the commercial fit out industry, provides clients with the confidence that their project will be managed and completed to an exemplary standard.
Ben Heald started with Zeal in 2013 after completing a Bachelor of Science majoring in Mathematics and a post graduate diploma in Quantity Surveying. At Zeal, Ben is the go-to guy, leading projects from the initial pricing right through to the final account, including detailed budget estimates, measurements, contracts, cash flow forecasts and cost control. With an aptitude for communication, Ben liaises with clients, architects, engineers and contractors to ensure client requirements are met.
With a few valuable years behind him in the construction industry, Hayden joined our qualified team in 2018 with a diploma in Quantity Surveying. A member of NZIQS, Hayden’s role within Zeal encompasses providing detailed budget estimates and tenders to clients, as well as professional management of sub-contractors. While being able to think big-picture, his attention to detail, commitment and communication to clients is second to none, making him an instant hit with our team and clients alike.
Starting at Zeal in 2011, Grant has 13 years of extensive experience working in the commercial construction industry. With expertise in key trades, Grant's comprehensive knowledge has seen him work on projects ranging from the very small to large multi-million dollar builds. As a Contracts Manager, he has an eye for detail and is determined to ensure client satisfaction. Grant’s passion is building successful relationships with clients and contractors, to achieve the best quality finish on each project.
John Dyer started with Zeal in 2013 and has been working in the construction industry for more than 25 years. His past experience includes extensive involvement in joinery, shop fitting, interior fit outs, residential and light commercial construction. John has a reputation for exceeding client expectations by going the extra distance to get projects completed. His broad range of skills and qualifications ensures that no project is outside of his capabilities; John holds a Trade Certificate in Joinery, is a Licensed Building Practitioner and has completed a National Diploma in Construction Management.
Sam started with Zeal in 2018 and brought with him over 7 years’ experience within the construction industry. After completing his carpentry apprenticeship in 2014, Sam progressed to a Tier 1 Construction Training Programme that exposed him to all parts of the construction process; from early contractor involvement through to project completion and delivery. Sam has worked on a range of challenging projects, including seismic repairs, medical care facilities and high spec acoustic auditoriums, this experience has given him valuable leadership expertise demanded by our ever-changing industry. As a Contracts Manager, Sam prides himself in building proactive relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors alike. Sam thrives on continually developing his skillset, and as such is currently completing a Diploma in Construction Management.
Chris joined Zeal in October 2018 bringing 18+ years of industry expertise and experience in building, contract negotiation and management, facilities management and maintenance, and commercial renovation, here in New Zealand and London. Chris has a sound knowledge of industry legislation, requirements, standards and protocols, and provides specialist leadership and oversight of health and safety on Zeal projects. Chris’ problem-solving prowess, negotiation skills and focus on getting stuck in and getting things done, make him a great person to have on the team.
Pip Wenman has been with Zeal from the start. A partner in the business, Pip ensures that the everyday management of the office runs efficiently and smoothly, so the rest of the team can get on with the job. Pip also looks after finance and accounts and is focused on keeping staff, subcontractors, and clients satisfied, an aspect of her role she loves. Her extensive experience in Human Resources is a big asset, and Pip plays a vital role in ensuring our people and the Zeal team are happy and humming.
Starting at Zeal in 2013, Gary Knibbs is the Chief Labourer. A qualified brick layer, Gary supports the Contracts Managers to help the projects run smoothly. He ensures all materials are on-site when and where required and that the sites remains clean and safe for the duration of the project. Gary works above and beyond the call of duty to create a polished, high quality result for the client.
